Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Skora ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Skora is a board game scorekeeper application that provides:

  • Score tracking and game management
  • Player profile management with photos
  • Game history and statistics
  • Local multiplayer connectivity via peer-to-peer networking
  • iCloud synchronization (optional)
  • Premium features via in-app purchase

3. User Accounts

Skora does not require user account creation. All data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account.

4. Premium Features

4.1 In-App Purchase

Premium features are available through a one-time in-app purchase. Premium features include:

  • Increased player limit (up to 12 players)
  • Unlimited game history
  • Additional app themes and icons

4.2 Refunds

All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

4.3 No Recurring Charges

The Premium upgrade is a one-time purchase with no subscription or recurring fees.

5. User Conduct

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You will not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to transmit harmful code or malicious content
  • Attempt to interfere with the App's operation
  • Use the App in violation of any applicable laws

6. Multiplayer Features

6.1 Local Connectivity

Multiplayer features use Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework for local peer-to-peer connections. No data is transmitted over the internet during multiplayer sessions.

6.2 User Responsibility

You are responsible for the players you invite to multiplayer games. We are not liable for any data shared during local multiplayer sessions.

7. Third-Party Services

7.1 iCloud

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account subject to Apple's terms and privacy policies.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Ownership

The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by the developer and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 User Content

You retain ownership of all photos and data you add to the App. By using the App, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store and display your content within the App for functionality purposes.

9. Data Backup

You are responsible for backing up your data. We recommend enabling iCloud sync to prevent data loss. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from device failure, App deletion, or other circumstances.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or App Store updates. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

This Privacy Policy explains how Skora ("we," "us," or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Player Names: Names you enter for player profiles
  • Photos: Images you add from your camera or photo library for player profiles and board games
  • Game Data: Game names, scores, dates, and statistics
  • Board Game Information: Names and metadata of board games you track

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Name: Used only for local multiplayer identification (e.g., "John's iPhone")
  • App Usage Data: Locally stored preferences and settings

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do NOT collect personal identifiers (email, phone number, address)
  • We do NOT track your location
  • We do NOT use analytics or tracking services
  • We do NOT collect data for advertising purposes
  • We do NOT transmit your data to our servers

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Primary Uses

All data is used exclusively for App functionality:

  • Displaying player profiles and scores
  • Calculating game statistics and history
  • Syncing data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
  • Identifying your device during local multiplayer sessions

3.2 No Secondary Uses

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your data for marketing
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Analyze your data for purposes beyond App functionality

4. Data Storage

4.1 Local Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using:

  • UserDefaults: For app settings and preferences
  • Local Files: For photos and game data

4.2 iCloud Storage (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync:

  • Data is stored in your personal iCloud account
  • We do not have access to your iCloud data
  • Storage is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
  • You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings

4.3 No Remote Servers

We do NOT operate servers that store your data. All data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account.

5. Data Sharing

5.1 Local Multiplayer

When using multiplayer features:

  • Your device name is visible to other players on the same local network
  • Player profiles you select are shared with the host device temporarily during the game session
  • Game results are transmitted to connected devices at the end of the game
  • All data is transmitted locally via peer-to-peer connection (no internet required)

5.2 Manual Sharing

You can manually share scoreboard images through standard iOS sharing (Messages, Email, etc.). This is entirely your choice and under your control.

5.3 Third Parties

We do NOT share your data with third parties, except:

  • Apple: For iCloud sync (if enabled) and in-app purchases

6. Data Security

6.1 Protection Measures

  • All local data is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
  • Multiplayer connections use encryption via Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework
  • Photos are stored locally and not transmitted except during multiplayer sessions you initiate

6.2 Your Responsibility

  • Keep your device secure with a passcode or biometric lock
  • Backup important data via iCloud sync
  • Only join multiplayer sessions with trusted players

7. Data Retention and Deletion

7.1 Retention

Data is retained indefinitely on your device until you:

  • Delete individual items within the App
  • Delete the App from your device
  • Disable iCloud sync and delete iCloud data

7.2 Deletion

To delete your data:

  • Individual Items: Delete players, games, or game history within the App
  • All Data: Delete the App from your device
  • iCloud Data: Disable iCloud sync in Settings, then delete data from iCloud Settings

8. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App is designed for general audiences and does not contain age-restricted content.

9. Third-Party Services

9.1 Apple Services

The App uses Apple-provided services:

  • iCloud: Optional sync (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
  • StoreKit: In-app purchases (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
  • MultipeerConnectivity: Local multiplayer (no data leaves the local network)
  • Photo Library & Camera: Accessed only with your explicit permission

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all your data within the App at any time
  • Edit or delete any data you've entered
  • Export data via iCloud backup or manual sharing features
  • Opt out of iCloud sync at any time
  • Delete the App and all associated data

11. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under CCPA:

  • Right to Know: We've detailed all data collection above
  • Right to Delete: You can delete all data by removing the App
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information
  • No Discrimination: We do not discriminate based on privacy choices

12. International Users

The App is available worldwide. Your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account (if enabled), subject to your region's data storage policies.

13. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through:

  • App update release notes
  • In-app notification
  • Updated "Last Updated" date at the top

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
